Tour the District

Tours of the District are an opportunity to learn of the rich history of black life in Central East Austin. Tour historic cemeteries, Huston Tillotson University, The George Carver Museum and Cultural Center, The Victory Grill, the home where former Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall stayed while he prepared for arguments in the historic Heman Sweat case against the University of Texas, and much more.

Monthly tours are available each first Saturday at 11 AM and 2 PM. Customized tours are available with at least an advanced 2 week notice. Tours are great compliments to family reunions!
